Temple of Minerva Santa Maria above Minerva
In plaza of the Town the Roman temple of Minerva is found.
The temple is dated to the I century.
Of the native temple the only façade has remained.
It is composed from six columns in Corinthian style and the small eardrum.
In the XVII century the temple of Minerva was turned into the church in Baroque style of Saint Maria above Minerva in the form that, substantially, has come up to us.
Only recently in the church they have been individualized and left some visible small lines of the ancient Roman temple (in the zone of the altar).
The visit in Assisi cannot tell him complete without having also seen this beautiful church.
